St. John Overcoming Church Ministries, Inc. is located in the heart of Atlanta in the Pittsburgh area, which is
one of the oldest communities in southwest Atlanta. This neighborhood is known for drugs, low income residents and crime.
In spite of these challenges, St. John Overcoming Church has kept and keeps its doors open and our programs going.
We strive to encourage those who are hurting and suffering, and in need of community assistance. We aspire to be a ray
of hope to those who are less fortunate and eager for a hand up - not a hand out. There is a tremendous need in
this community to assist the homeless, the indigent and low income families. St. John Overcoming Church is dedicated
to providing that helping hand. We offer free hot meals every Wednesday
at the church to the community. The overwhelming response to our gift of food and encouragement has been very successful.
The demand on our volunteers and kitchen is exciting yet challenging. Today, one of our greatest needs is to locate,
purchase and launch a facility to help us accommodate the growing number of people. Our
original focus was the weekly Wednesday feedings. Now, not only do we provide the weekly feedings, we also participate
in the annual Toy for Tots program, community events, and the Project Overcoat for families and the needy. It
is now obvious that it is essential that we obtain financial provision to continue to meet these needs, and for
an expansion of our facilities. We are excited that our services are well received, respected and
appreciated in the community. For your convenience, you may go to the donations
page and plant a financial seed toward these services through the PayPal button. Your generous contribution/donation
is welcome and appreciated.
